On April 15, 2015, Captain Mitch Lango had a flag raised at the Pentagon in honor of the kindergarten students at Knowlton as a way of showing his appreciation for our support for the United States military.  In February, for their 100th community service project, the kindergarten students collected money for care packages that they made for former students of Knowlton who are presently serving our country. The kindergarten students recently received a package from Captain Mitch Lango containing the flag that was flown in their honor, a certificate of appreciation, and a framed picture of the Pentagon building.
